PREVIOUS CONDITION: 

           Puspanjali Jani is a low vision girl. She was identified by the Resource teacher of IIEC under IEDSS project, Daspalla, Nayagarh. She was reading in the Daspalla High School, Daspalla. Her father is a daily labourer and mother house wife. Her socio economic status is very poor. She was facing problem in reading and writing in the class room due to eye problem. Her both eyes had a feeling of irritation and before 5 she knew her problem. The Eye Specialist gave her medicine and glass. Her eye sight started decreasing day by day. She was unable to take part fully in different activities and understanding the visual concepts clearly.

 

INTERVENTION :

 

• After medical assessment she was provided glass through the Resource Teacher of IIEC.

• Providing Assistive devices such as book lenses, neck magnifier, hand magnifier etc. for her study.

• Providing uniform, study material and allowances through the Resource teacher of IIEC.

• The Resource teachers of IIEC helped in her studies in the classroom and remedial teaching in home.

• She is made to sit the front line in the class room and to take active part in discussions.

 

PRESENT CONDITION:

 

• After intervention she has improved in her academic and daily living skill.

• Her self confidence has increased. She can read and write by the Assistive devices.

• Through the assistive devices and with the help of IIEC Resource Teacher, now she has passed HSC annual examination.
